Boy band One Direction pulled in £85 million last year to make them the second highest-paid celebrities on Forbes' annual list, beaten only by pop superstar Taylor Swift.
The British and Irish singers earned $110 million, while Swift's 1989 world tour helped her outdo her former boyfriend and One Direction member Harry Styles and top the list with earnings of $170 million (£131 million).
The band are on hiatus while they pursue solo careers, with Styles filming Christopher Nolan's new film Dunkirk and bandmates Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne rumoured to be working on new music.
British chart-topper Adele trumped other female singers including Madonna, Rihanna and Katy Perry to take the ninth spot with $80.5 million (£62 million).
Madonna racked up $76.5 million (£59 million), edging out Rihanna with $75 million (£58 million) and Katy with $41 million (£32 million).
Another Swift ex, the Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, pulled in $63 million (£49 million). according to the list.
Reality star Kim Kardashian, who is featured on the cover of the magazine, was 42nd on the list with earnings of $51 million (£39 million).
Some 40% of her income came from her mobile game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, Forbes said.
Kim captioned this pic of her cover: "Such a tremendous honour to be on the cover of @forbes! I never dreamed this would happen and know my Dad would be so proud."
She added the hashtag: "#NotBadForAGirlWithNoTalent"
