Alexander Skarsgard and Margot Robbie in the swing for Legend Of Tarzan premiere

Alexander Skarsgard and Margot Robbie will be swinging by Leicester Square for the European premiere of The Legend Of Tarzan.

The pair, who play Tarzan and his wife Jane, will be swapping jungle vines for a more sensible means of arrival as they take to the red carpet alongside other stars including Christoph Waltz and Djimon Hounsou.

In an update to the Edgar Rice Burroughs' story, Tarzan has left the wilds of Africa to take up his rightful position among Britain's aristocracy as Lord Greystoke, when he is invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament.

Accompanied by his wife and American envoy George Washington Williams (played by Samuel L Jackson), Tarzan is unaware he has stepped into the middle of a deadly plot masterminded by Belgian captain Leon Rom (Waltz).

Jane (Margot Robbie) is no damsel in distress but she does become a pawn in Rom's evil game (Warner Bros.)

Director David Yates, who was behind the final four Harry Potter films, producer David Barron and cast members Yule Masiteng and Sidney Ralitsoele will also attend the premiere.

Filming took place at Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire, with a working waterfall built on set and CGI used to recreate the lush rainforests of the Congo.

Christoph Waltz plays Belgian King Leopold's man on the ground in the Congo (Warner Bros.)

The Legend Of Tarzan is released in UK cinemas on Wednesday.
