Jenna Coleman celebrated a new era of Doctor Who by sending latest companion Pearl Mackie "a beautifully thoughtful gift".
Jenna passed the baton onto Pearl with a huge bouquet as she took her first steps into the Tardis on Monday when filming began in Cardiff.

Pearl, 28, stars as the Doctor's new assistant Bill - alongside Peter Capaldi - in series 10, which is due to air next year.
She described Bill as "cool, strong, sharp, a little bit vulnerable with a bit of geekiness thrown in".
Fans caught the first glimpse of the Londoner in character during half time of the FA Cup semi-final match between Everton and Manchester United when she was announced as Jenna's replacement.

Jenna left the show in 2015 after three years, and starring roles next to Peter and predecessor Matt Smith.
She was written out to take on the role of the young queen in ITV's new lavish period drama Victoria.
Doctor Who returns with a Christmas special before the new series in 2017.
