Meat Loaf collapses on stage in Edmonton during his Canada tour

Rock singer Meat Loaf has collapsed on stage during a concert in Canada.

The 68-year-old, born Marvin Lee Aday, was taken to a hospital on Thursday night according to reports.

Video of the moment he was taken ill during a performance at Edmonton's Jubilee Auditorium has emerged on social media. It shows the singer bending over, dropping his microphone and falling to the floor. He was attended to by musicians in his band.

Earlier in the week, Meat Loaf cancelled two other concerts due to illness.

His tour taking in several cities in Canada is scheduled to conclude on July 2.

Meat Loaf is one of the best-selling recording artists of all time.

His hits include Bat Out Of Hell, Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad and the Grammy-award winning I'd Do Anything For Love.

He has also appeared in such films as The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Wayne's World and Fight Club.
