Alexander Skarsgard plants a smacker on some cute - and creepy - critters as he promotes Tarzan in Australia

Very rarely is anyone jealous of a baby kangaroo - except when the Legend of Tarzan star Alexander Skarsgard is giving it a kiss.

Understandably the little joey went straight for Alex with its tongue out, but he kept his lips firmly shut as the duo enjoyed a peck.

Taking a leaf out of the book of his latest screen character, Alexander also took on the challenge of slinging a python around his neck and feeding a spiky echidna at Wildlife Sydney Zoo in Australia.

The 39-year-old actor proved his jungle credentials as he promoted his new movie Down Under, in the home of his co-star Margot Robbie.

He plays an older Tarzan, now living among the English aristocracy as John Clayton, Lord Greystoke, with his wife Jane, played by Margot.

Tarzan is asked to return to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary for Parliament, unaware he is a pawn in a murderous plot masterminded by Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz).
