The cast of hip-hop musical Hamilton will leave their Revolutionary War muskets out of their performance at the Tony Awards following the shooting at a club in Florida.
The cast of the musical will instead pantomime the use of the rifles, according to a show spokesman.
Fifty people were killed when a man thought to have been armed with an assault-type rifle and a handgun opened fire at Pulse, a gay club in Orlando.
The killer, who also took hostages, was later killed in a gunfight with Swat officers.
Lin-Manuel Miranda, the star and creator of Hamilton, is one of many celebrities who have espressed their condolences online.
Rory O'Malley, who plays King George in the show, also tweeted about the massacre.
The theatre is our church and we all need church tonight. https://t.co/1fWhlBR07P
