Busted's Matt Willis has said he is looking forward to "a new chapter" as the rock boy band announced a new album and record deal.
Twelve and a half years after their second studio album, Busted will deliver their third later this year for East West Records UK.
The group, comprising original members Charlie Simpson, Matt and James Bourne, are currently on a sold-out tour of the UK.
Matt, 33, said in a statement: "We wrote some awesome songs together and now Busted are back! The three of us went into the studio with no preconceptions, and were so elated with the results that we wanted to start a new chapter of our band."
He added: "We are having an incredible time on our arena tour, and are now looking forward to releasing new music through a global partnership with East West."
Dan Chalmers, president of East West Records UK said: "Watching Busted play live over the past few weeks and seeing people respond to their music and energy has been amazing. Busted have a huge global fan base who are going to be really excited to hear the new music the guys are working on."
He continued: "They've managed to combine the classic Busted sound with a modern twist, it's sure to remind people of why they love them. We're really happy to be working with Charlie, Matt and James."
Busted were formed in 2000 and have sold more than five million records worldwide and have had four UK number one singles. Studio albums Busted (released in 2002) and A Present For Everyone (released the following year) reinforced their position as a chart-topping band.
The Brits Award-winning trio broke up in January 2005.
In 2014 and 2015, Willis and Bourne toured with fellow boyband McFly (Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter, and Harry Judd) as McBusted.
So as our 3rd album is pretty much done ... This means we're almost half way to our 7th album ????
