Joel Edgerton's Oscar-tipped drama about a love that toppled interracial marriage restrictions in the US has wowed audiences at the Cannes Film Festival.
Loving, directed by Jeff Nichols, is in the running for the coveted Palme d'Or at the festival and there is already buzz about it being an Academy Awards contender.
Joel and Ruth Negga star as Richard and Mildred Loving, whose interracial marriage got them jailed and exiled from Virginia but ultimately led to a landmark 1967 Supreme Court ruling on marriage equality.
Critics are already raving about their performances.
And soon after it made its debut, film fans were praising it on social media.
