The stage of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon was awash with stars as hosts David Tennant and Catherine Tate introduced some of the brightest and best thespians to mark 400 years since the Bard's death.
And all in the presence of their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.
We knew we'd be seeing Benedict Cumberbatch, Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen and Dame Helen Mirren, to name a few.
But there was some excitement on social media when Hollywood actor John Lithgow appeared on stage as Malvolio in Twelfth Night.
To say he stole that segment of Twelfth Night is putting it mildly.
Lithgow, you legend!
Lithgow got the memo sent to all Shakespearean actors: "If you say the word 'thrust' you must LITERALLY DO THAT AS YOU SAY IT" #RSCLive
