Justin Bieber's blond dreadlocks continue to spark debate on social media, but the 22-year-old heartthrob has hit back with a light-hearted video posted on his Instagram account.
After a break on the Caribbean island of Antigua, the Sorry singer uploaded the video in which he is seen poking fun at the reaction to his contentious hairstyle.
The hairdo has prompted disapproving comments from some African Americans especially, who claim the Canadian is appropriating black culture. Others simply do not like it.
The Biebs is seen lying down and in a tone mimicking that of movie slackers such as Keanu Reeves' Ted in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Justin recounts an encounter with "some girl" who does not approve of his hairstyle.
"Dude, are you going to do anything with your hair? Are you just going to leave it like that, dude?"
In what sounds like a really bad British accent, he adds: "Yeah, some girl came up to me, she was like, 'I love you, Justin but, like, that's like my least favourite hairstyle of yours'."
The video was captioned: "Being weird is fun if u r not weird I don't like you."
He followed it up with a topless post, accompanied by the simple message: "Yessir."
As far as commentators and Beliebers are concerned, opinion is split.
