Kevin Simm has admitted chart glory won't be a sure thing despite his win on The Voice.
Some former winners of the show have failed to hit the big time - even the first winner Leanne Mitchell didn't make much of a splash, with her debut album limping to just number 134 in the charts.
And Kevin told the Daily Mirror he knows his own single will be "a gamble".
"You know there are no guarantees," he said.
"You have to work hard to try and make it work. Nobody I met during my time on The Voice wanted to be famous - they did it because they love singing.
"It's always going to be a gamble at the end of the day whether it works out or not."
Kevin, 35, originally found fame in 2001 with the band Liberty X.
