Another new bunch of budding chefs took to the MasterChef kitchen to create some tasty looking dishes for John Torode and Gregg Wallace - but Twitter was up in arms over a comment Gregg made about chocolate and ginger.
One contestant, surgeon Kath, went for the perfectly reasonable - no, classic - combination in a heavenly looking tart during an invention test.
Look at it's beauty! Crumbly shortcrust pastry, chocolate ganache infused with stem ginger, spun sugar and a ginger cream.
We thought pudding man Gregg would fall head over heels for Kath's dessert, but then he uttered the strange words: "I'm not convinced of the combination of chocolate and ginger".
Twitter was outraged. It was like chicken and cheese gate all over again.
Jeez Greg, of course chocolate and ginger is a thing. FFS... ? #MasterChef

Gregg doesn't think chocolate and ginger go together?! What planet is he on? It's a classic flavour combo! #MasterChef

Can we sack Mr Wallace purely for thinking that chocolate and ginger don't go together? I mean...what? #MasterChef

Seriously, if you can't appreciate chocolate and ginger together, you are not fit to judge a cooking competition #Masterchef

Chocolate & Ginger is the bomb and Gregg is an imbecile. #MasterChef

Later he said mushrooms and parsley didn't go, and even John had to ask what he was on about.
To top it all off poor Kath was sent home. But at least she can take comfort in the fact that ginger and chocolate DO go.
