Reports now claim it's all been a misunderstanding and that Victoria has, in fact, given her former bandmates her blessing to go ahead. But this doesn't mean she will be performing herself.
Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the Spice Girls debut album Spice - and a reunion tour could be on the cards.
The group split in 2000 before reuniting for a world tour in 2007 and 2008. Their last performance together was at the London Olympics' Closing Ceremony in 2012.
But could they be returning for a sensational tour? Mel B certainly seems to think so.
At New York Fashion Week, the 40-year-old told People Magazine: "I am hoping so! It's our 20th anniversary next year, so, once we decide and get things going, then I'll be the first one yelling it from the rooftops!"
The famous five might, however, end up being the fab four with Posh Spice said to not be keen on the idea of a reunion.
Mel B had reportedly said Victoria Beckham was a "snob" for "snubbing" her bandmates and wanting to distance herself from the idea.
But Mel has since set the record straight on Twitter, saying: "Utter bulsh*t wtf B and Victoria Beckham 'at war' over Spice Girls reunion tour."
Geri Halliwell has also confirmed the band are "in talks" to reunite next year. She said: "It's one of those things that have been discussed. I think it's nice to celebrate it in some way."
