Anne Hathaway, believe it or not, needed to lose weight for her role in Les Miserables. After losing 10lbs on a strict cleanse diet, she then lost another 15lbs eating two thin squares of dried oatmeal a day. Mmmm, tasty!
Luckily it wasn't all for nothing as she won the Oscar for best actress in a supporting role for the movie in 2012.
Christian Bale for his role in The Machinist had to lose 60lbs in four months. So, he restricted his daily diet to unsweetened black coffee and one apple or one can of tuna. Little wonder he has a reputation for being a grouch on set.
Matthew McConaughey, who played an ailing AIDS patient in Dallas Buyers Club, lost over 40lbs eating two egg whites, a piece of chicken, two (diet) cokes and a tapioca pudding a day.
For her role in Dreamgirls, Beyonce, known for her curvy figure, went on the 'master cleanse diet' which consisted of four cups of salt water in the morning, followed by 6-12 glasses of lemonade with cayenne pepper and grade B maple syrup.

To maintain his huge, muscular frame he eats up to seven meals a day. He consumes an enormous amount including 12 eggs and an 8oz steak, 8oz chicken and six cups of rice. Oh, and a baked potato.
