Disgruntled employee smashes pickaxe through bonnet of boss’s Range Rover

This video captures the aftermath of a terrifying incident where a man hit this Range Rover Sport with a pickaxe.

The incident happened on Wednesday in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, after a disgruntled employee had a heated argument with his property developer boss.


Eyewitnesses said he then picked up a hammer and threatened his boss with it. Fleeing to the nearby Range Rover, the victim locked himself inside.

The man then grabbed the pickaxe and smashed it through the bonnet of the SUV as the victim attempted to drive away.

The victim quickly drove out of the yard, with the pickaxe still embedded in the bonnet, before calling the police who arrested the employee on site.

West Yorkshire Police released a statement, saying: "We were called to Calder Road at 9.30am to reports of a man in possession of a weapon. Officers attended and found a male in possession of a pickaxe.

"A parked vehicle has been damaged in the incident. A man has been arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon, affray and causing damage to a motor vehicle."

Kirklees CID said a man had been bailed pending further inquiries.
