First Drive: Kia Sportage

Updated

Kia's Sportage has always done well with families, with decent levels of interior space and equipment drawing in buyers from all angles. With this fourth incarnation, Kia are punching even higher with greater levels of technology and safety features aiming the Sportage at more premium rivals. The question is, can it keep up? AOL Cars heads to France to find out.

What is it?

The Sportage has been one of Kia's best-selling cars of all time, and this latest incarnation is hoping to build on a solid reputation of reliability and value-for-money. Although the very best specification cars are now nudging over £30,000 – a Kia first – the rest of the range offers a lot of equipment for a relatively small outlay. That new price does push it into the reach of competitors, so can it maintain its popularity? Base prices start at £17,995, which means that the Sportage has a broad range of specifications to appeal for every driver and every budget.
