When the Volkswagen Transporter was originally launched in 1950s, it was designed to solve the problem of shifting cargo and people in a stylish, yet practical package.

Over the years it has sold in its droves in various guises, and has proved popular not only with tradesmen, but it's gathered something of a cult following, too. With and all-new T6 version due at the end of 2015, we've taken delivery of the Sportline 60 LWB on a six-month loan to find out what makes it so special.
