Volkswagen unveils new Golf Match

Volkswagen Golf Match

This is the new Volkswagen Golf Match, a brand new trim level that replaces the popular Golf SE, offering greater value thanks to increased standard equipment levels.
> Opt for the Match trim grade and you'll find your Golf bestowed with front and rear parking sensors, front fog lights and automatically-folding door mirrors with puddle lights. New 16-inch 'Dover' alloy wheels, unique to the Match, distinguishes the new model from the rest of the range.

As with the rest of the Golf range, the Match performs well in terms of safety, with all models coming with seven airbags as standard, including a driver's knee airbag. An automatic post collision braking system, which locks on the brakes in the event of a crash to avoid further collisions, is also fitted along with Isofix points for two rear child seats.

If it's technology you're after then the Golf Match will meet your needs, being fitted with a 5.8-inch colour touchscreen, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth and an eight speaker stereo amongst a host of other features that will keep you and your family entertained on even the most boring of car journeys.

It's available with a choice of both petrol and diesel engines, with the 1.4-litre TSI engine offering 120bhp and returning 54-56mpg on the combined cycle. Alternatively the 1.6-litre TDI engine returns 73mpg and develops 103bhp. A larger 148bhp 2.0-litre diesel motor is also available. All are fitted with a manual gearbox as standard, with a twin-clutch DSG automatic available as an option.

The new Golf Match is available to order now, with the first customer cars expected for delivery in September. Prices start from £19,680 for a three-door 1.4-litre petrol model, rising to £24,120 for a five door 2.0-litre TDI with the DSG gearbox.
