A new study has revealed what cars speed demons in the UK are most likely to be driving.

In at number one is the favoured school run chariot, the Land Rover Discovery HSE V6 TD.

A whopping 26% of the car's owners have been caught speeding, topping the charts in Confused.com's research on the most likely cars to be caught whilst racing around our roads.

A further 1 in 5 BMW 320 D M Sport owners and Ford S-Max Titanium TDCI drivers have also been caught speeding.

More worryingly, of the 1.4m uninsured drivers using our roads, Confused.com identified Vauxhall Astra Edition 16v Coupe drivers as the most likely to have been caught for the offence in the last five years.

Driving without due care and attention is a favourite pastime of Peugeot 106 GTI drivers, while Citroen Saxo VTR owners are most likely to be caught drunk behind the wheel.
