Car firms issued 179 recall notices in 2011

Vauxhall is a popular car brand in the UK, with the Astra, Corsa and Insignia holding top positions in monthly sales figures.

However, according to figures gathered by The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA), over 435,000 cars that needed unscheduled visits to dealers last year for recalls or production faults, had a Griffin badge on the bonnet.
