M5 Touring axed and no four-wheel drive for super-saloon

Updated

The M5 Touring has been axed. So if you've got a family, a dog and loads of luggage, but still like to travel at warp speed, it'll have to be a Mercedes E63 AMG or Audi RS6.

Over the life span of the last M5 only 1,056 Tourings were sold – worldwide. And according to BMW's Albert Biermann, Head of Product Development for its M division, there just isn't a strong enough business case for a lightning-fast load-lugging BMW.
