Japan car sales plummet in earthquake aftermath

Japan's automotive sector has been hit hard by the recent earthquake and tsunami suffered by the country, with sales dropping by an average of 37 percent in the country.

Production at some of the country's biggest auto manufacturers has been hit by a shortage of parts and power cuts. Toyota suffered the most, with sales falling by 46 percent, while Nissan's dropped by 38 percent.
