Video: Ford Mk2 Escort takes Ken Block for a drive

It's nice to see that as well as lending Ken Block the latest Fiesta and Focus to go rallying in, Ford has taken the time to teach the American a little something about its heritage in the motorsport.

And what better way to do that than sending the gymkhana nut round a woodland stage in a rear-wheel drive Mk2 Escort - a car still capable of charming the wallet out of a middle aged man's jacket at fifty paces.

The rally version was responsible for some of Ford's finest moments during the late seventies and early eighties including a Championship win for Ari Vatanen. Lets hope some of the experience rubs off on Block.
