Video: Blind man breaks speed record

Updated

Not many people can claim to have driven at 181mph anyway, but Turkish pop singer Metin Senturk has an extra special claim to make – he is the fastest blind man in the world.

He drove a Ferrari F430 to 181.44mph followed by a co-driver giving him instructions in a car behind. He beat the previous record set by British bank manager Mike Newman by five miles an hour.

Newman has subsequently attempted to break the 200mph barrier on a run at Pendine Sands in Carmarthenshire, but his main car failed.

He hopes to make a further attempt at the record this month, but as you can see from this video, Metin Senturk won't give it up lightly.
