Three charged with kidnap in probe into death of jeweller

Three men have been charged with kidnap and robbery after a jeweller was abducted and killed as he made his way home from work.

Ramniklal Jogiya, 74, is believed to have been bundled into a vehicle in Leicester on Wednesday night in the Belgrave Road area of the city.

The businessman's body was found on Thursday morning in Stoughton, near Leicester, after he was reported missing.

Leicestershire Police have said the investigation is still ongoing, and two people remain in custody after being arrested on suspicion of kidnap and murder.

Officers said Thomas Jervis, 23, of Enderby Road, Whetstone, Charles Frances Mcauley, 20, of Gooding Avenue, Leicester, and Callan Reeve, 19, of Aylmer Road, Leicester, have all been charged with the kidnap and robbery of Mr Jogiya.

The three men will appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Mr Jogiya's family said in a statement: "Ramniklal was a loyal, gentle man who was passionate about his family.

"He was a doting husband, father, granddad, brother and uncle, who loved nothing more than spending time with his family.
