Road-legal McLaren P1 GTR for sale

A road-legal McLaren P1 GTR wearing iconic Lark Livery is up for sale with UK car dealer Tom Hartley Jnr.

The McLaren P1 GTR was never intended for road use, but several have been converted for road use by specialists Lanzante Motorsport – including this one. It is reportedly one of just 58 P1 GTRs ever produced, too – this GTR being chassis number 044 and the 14th to be converted.

The P1 GTR has had just one owner and covered just 852 miles since new. It was specified in Lark livery to match the owner's F1 GTR that wears the same livery and competed in the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship in 1996. This sale sadly means that the two cars will now be separated.

This car comes with its original flight case that includes factory supplied diagnostic equipment, racing wheels and tyres, a racing exhaust and also a bespoke car cover.

The McLaren P1 GTR was an even more extreme version of the Woking-based manufacturer's hybrid P1. The 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine is joined by an electric motor to produce a huge 986bhp, allowing it to accelerate from 0-60mph in just 2.6 seconds and onto a top speed of 217mph.

It is offered for sale by Derbyshire-based Tom Hartley Jnr (not to be confused with Tom Hartley). It comes as little surprise that it is not being advertised with a price, simply 'POA', although considering that when new it cost £1.98mil, excluding options and the pricey road conversion, you are looking at considerably more for this example.

Alongside the P1 GTR, the dealer also currently has for sale two Bugatti Veyrons, two Ferrari Enzos and a Land Rover Defender SVX that starred in the latest James Bond film Spectre.
