Vicky Webb, 48, goes for a walk with her dog each morning and is joined by the same red-breasted bird at her local nature reserve.

The tame creature then swoops down and sits there eating its breakfast for minutes at a time in scenes reminiscent of a Disney film.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Ms Webb, from Chilwell, Nottinghamshire, said: "I started whistling to him and he started to chirp back, like he was talking to me.

"The next day I took some bird seed and amazingly he swooped down and sat there on my palm pecking away at the feed.

"It was amazing, it was like something from Snow White. He was so close to my face, I could not believe my eyes.

"It really is a lovely experience and we've developed a bond ever since."
