New Range Rover SVAutobiography is the most luxurious yet

Land Rover has unveiled the latest flagship of its range ahead of its debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show. It's called the SVAutobiography LWB, and with prices starting from £167,850 it's the most expensive and luxurious Range Rover ever.

Land Rover says the new model 'epitomises the pinnacle of luxury travel' for both driver and passenger. It's certainly got the luxury trimmings to back up those claims. Available exclusively in enormous long-wheelbase form, rear-seat passengers are very well catered for, with over a metre of rear legroom. Instead of a rear bench, passengers are treated to separate airline-style seats, which recline to a 40-degree angle, allowing real relaxation.

The seats are, of course, heated, but they're cooled as well, and passengers won't need to do anything so uncouth as to close their own rear door – they're power-operated. Feeling the strain after a long day? Lean back, and the seats can deliver a hot stone massage.

Each passenger also gets their own 10-inch touchscreen display, with Land Rover's Touch Pro Duo infotainment system fitted – and 4G WiFi, of course. Running the length of the rear cabin is a vast centre console with various controls and a bespoke Zenith clock, while concealed between the seats there's a refrigerator with space for two wine bottles.

The Range Rover SVAutobiography is offered with three powerful engine choices. The range kicks off with a 4.4-litre V8 diesel, priced at £167,850. For just £165 extra, customers can opt for an all-new plug-in hybrid powertrain, capable of running for 31 miles on electric power alone.

Topping the range is the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol, offering 557bhp and priced at £177,030.
