New York hotel to dump Trump from its name
An upmarket New York City hotel is dropping Trump from its name.
Trump SoHo has paid the Trump Organization to walk away from the Manhattan establishment.
The split comes after reports the hotel was struggling following the Presidental election result last November.
Many speculated the Trump association had damaged the hotel's appeal in the predominantly Democrat state.
Last week, it was claimed room rates had been slashed 63 per cent since Donald Trump's election.
The decision to remove Trump from the brand comes after top sushi restaurant Koi announced it was leaving the premises in April.
The CIM Group have bought out the Trump Organization from the contract with plans to rebrand the hotel.
While Trump's new Washington DC hotel has been thriving since it opened, two of his Scottish golf courses have been struggling since he became president.
