Mercedes-Benz's in-house tuning firm AMG has revealed a bike inspired by its GT-R model.

Called the R.S2 "Beast of the Green Hell", it is a fully hand-built racing bike made by German bicycle manufacturer Rotwild.

This unique bike has been designed to pay tribute to its road-going cousin and is also finished in hues of the same "Hell Green" that can be specified on the car.

Forged out of carbon-fibre, it costs a staggering €7,109 (£6,277). That number itself is significant, recognising the GT-R road car's lap of the Nurburgring in seven minutes 10.9 seconds.

And, as automotive blog Carscoops points out, that's as much as a brand new Dacia Sandero to buy in the UK – although you don't get a carbon-fibre body with a Dacia.

To keep it as lightweight as possible, even the 29-inch wheels are made of carbon-fibre. Almost all of the mechanical components are manufactured by Shimano too – a brand known for high-quality racing bike parts.

As well as keeping the bike lightweight, the carbon-fibre frame also helps keep it as rigid as possible.

This isn't the first bike that Rotwild has made in collaboration with Mercedes-AMG either, with two other models having gone before. The first was in 2013 – a mountain bike made of, you guessed it, carbon-fibre, called the R.X45 AMG.

The second was in 2015 – another mountain bike also made from the lightweight material and made for seriously tough off-road tracks.

The bike will be a very limited-edition model, with just 50 being manufactured worldwide. So if you fancy one parked alongside your matching GT-R, you'll have to act quickly.
