Doctor Who: First look at Jodie Whittaker in costume

Doctor Who fans have been treated to their first look at Jodie Whittaker in the role.

The actress is the first female to ever play the Time Lord (or Lady?) as she takes over from Peter Capaldi in the upcoming new series.

In the first official image, Whittaker is seen wearing teal culottes, yellow braces, a rainbow-print jumper, long beige coat and brown ankle boots.

Whittaker will be joined in the new series by sidekicks Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole, Mandip Gill and Sharon D Clarke.
