A recent commercial shows an abusive husband beating his wife before throwing her out of the house. But after the victim uses Slimmewhite skin whitener, her skin is lighter and her husband wants her back.

Women's rights groups say the ad justifies domestic violence by implying women with darker skin deserve abuse.

Yet, Slimmewhite is defending the campaign, saying it teaches men to appreciate their wives. Even though skin lightening is a $20 billion global industry, it goes without saying that it has zero effect on domestic abuse. See more on the story in the video above.
