The Seychelles: Top destination for luxury lovers in 2018

The Seychelles are set to be the top destination for a luxury beach escape in 2018, partly thanks to British Airways' new direct flights from Heathrow to Mahé launching in March.

Popular among the A-list and even members of the royal family (George and Amal Clooney and Kate and William honeymooned here), the Seychelles offer five-star extravagance, paradise beaches and exclusivity.

Famed for picture-perfect islands, jungle-like landscapes and giant tortoises, the Seychelles are ideal for beach lovers, families and romantic travellers.

British Airways will bring two flights per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with fares starting from £699 return.

Sean Doyle, British Airways' director of network and alliances, said: "The Seychelles is one of the most beautiful places on earth and we're delighted to be adding this collection of islands to our extensive route network.

British Airways' direct flights from London take 10 hours, instead of over 13 hours with a connection in the Middle East.
