Tribute to 'caring family man' following London Stock Exchange death

The family of a man who died after falling from a balcony at the London Stock Exchange has paid tribute to a "kind and caring family man".

Christopher Woolnough fell from an upper level to the ground floor inside the building at Paternoster Square, central London, on August 15.

The emergency services attended the scene, but he was declared dead at 10.10am by the London Ambulance service.

The 56-year-old, from Braintree in Essex, had worked for the LSE for more than three decades.

His family said: "Chris was a kind and caring family man who worked for 31 years at the London Stock Exchange, as the service desk team lead.

"He never married and didn't have children of his own but was devoted to his three nieces and nephew. He would do anything for them.

"He will be missed dearly by his family, friends and girlfriend.

"The world has lost a kind, gentle and caring man."

The City of London Police are treating the death as non-suspicious and have submitted a report to the coroner.
