Giant balls replace raging bulls in Spanish town

People flocked to the streets of the Spanish town of Mataelpino last weekend to take part in the "boloencierro", where participants flee from large polystyrene balls painted with the faces of bulls.

Residents chose to use the giant balls instead of raging bulls for the traditional festival in 2011 and the event has become a mainstay while drawing praise from animal rights groups.
