Taylor Swift announces name and release date of new album

Taylor Swift has delighted fans after announcing the title and release date of her eagerly-anticipated album.

The singer fuelled rumours new material was in the works when she deleted all her social media earlier this month.

However, on Wednesday, the 27-year-old tweeted her new release would be called Reputation and would hit stores on 10 November.

Her new album comes three years after her last LP 1989, which sold over 1million copies in the UK and 6million in the US.

The title Reputation may allude to her squeaky-clean image taking a battering in the past year.

Her short-lived romance with actor Tom Hiddleston was widely ridiculed, while she also received negative press over her ongoing feud with Katy Perry.

She was also left embarrassed when Kim Kardashian leaked a tape featuring her conversation with Kanye West about his controversial song Famous, which included the line 'I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b**** famous'.

Taylor had always denied she approved Kanye's decision to include the explicit lyrics, however the tape recording appeared to show she was in the whole time.
