Ant McPartlin reveals drugs binge 'nearly killed him'

Anthony McPartlin admitted he nearly died after bingeing on painkillers and alcohol.

The TV presenter has recently left rehab for prescription drug and alcohol abuse following a secret three year battle.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun on Sunday, McPartlin revealed the extent of his turmoil.

He said: "I was at the point where anything — prescription drugs, non-prescription drugs — I would take. And take them with alcohol, which is ridiculous. The doctors told me, 'You could have killed yourself.'"

The I'm A Celebrity co-host praised his wife Lisa for standing by him, despite being difficult to live with.

He lamented: "I've put Lisa through hell with mood swings and depression and how it affects you."
