Dog swims out to sea to retrieve owner's flip-flop

An adorable video of a dog swimming out into the ocean to save its owner's flip-flop has been shared online.

Filmed at Terrigal Beach, New South Wales, the video shows the dog venturing far out to see to retrieve the footwear.

"The owner of the Labrador was throwing her flip-flop into the ocean for the dog to retrieve," the filmer wrote online.

"This time round, the flip-flop was quite far out and the dog needed some encouraging whistles and yells to swim out to it."

"Eventually the dog finds the flip-flop and then swims back to shore.

The dog seemed to enjoy catching the waves," he added.
