Everton to sign Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for £30m
Everton have reportedly agreed terms with Sunderland over the sale of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
The 23-year-old is currently with the England Under-21s squad ahead of this summer's European Championships but is expected to undergo a medical and sign for the Toffees upon his return.
Pickford impressed in the Premier League this season, making more saves per game (4.7) during his 29 appearances than any other keeper. Having joined the academy in 2010, Pickford only made his first-team debut for Sunderland in January 2016, but he was kept busy in this period, appearing for Darlington, Alfreton Town, Burton Albion, Carlisle United, Bradford City and Preston while on loan from the Black Cats.
As reported by The Press Association, Everton's offer for Pickford includes add-ons and, if the fee does rise to £30m, he would become the third most expensive goalkeeper in history behind Juventus' Gianluigi Buffon and Manchester City's Ederson.
Meanwhile, at the England Under-21s training camp in Poland, Pickford's fellow goalkeeper Angus Gunn was the centre of attention when a local child managed to nutmeg the young Manchester City player, much to the delight of his team-mates. Watch the footage below:
