Tragic story of Tijuana's tourist trap 'zonkeys'

In Mexico, tourists can take photos beside a 'zonkey' to take home.

These donkeys are painted with black and white stripes, to make them look like zebras.

This is the story of a man trying to stop a practice he calls cruel to donkeys that deserve better.

Ivan Marquez said: "I've been fighting for animal rights for years in the state of Baja California.

"It's valuable or the government and business to include zonkeys in our cultural heritage.

"Like most of the citizens in Tijuana, I think animal cruelty must end."
