Younger people resigned to working beyond retirement age

Updated

A record number of people believe they will work beyond the age of 65 - with some expecting to be in a job into their 80s, a study shows.

Younger people are more likely to be resigned to be working into their late 60s, a survey of more than 1,000 employees by Canada Life Group Insurance found.

Almost three out of four of those polled said they will not retire at 65, while one in 10 of those believe they could still be in work in their early 80s.

Poor pension planning, low interest on savings and enjoyment of work were given as the main reasons for not retiring.
