Police warn of two men posing as officers who flagged down female driver

Two men have been spotted posing as police officers in a stolen car fitted with blue lights.

West Midlands Police issued a warning to the public after a female motorist reported being flagged down by the offenders and being asked to get into their BMW 1 series.

The driver refused to get into the silver-coloured car and reported the men to police, who established that the car had been stolen from an address in Solihull on Saturday.

Detective Chief Inspector Craig Underwood, from Solihull Police, said: "We are asking anyone who sees this vehicle to call us straight away.

"A police officer will always show their warrant card as proof of their identity. If this is not shown or you have any concerns then please call us on 101."
