Runaway pig stops traffic on motorway
A runaway pig stopped traffic for more than an hour on the M62 before being caught by police.
The little seven-week-old piglet escaped from a moving vehicle, and was seen walking down the carriageway between junctions 28 and 29 near Leeds on Tuesday evening.

According to the Telegraph, Highways England said the road was closed around 7.20pm causing a 3.5 mile tailback eastbound and a 1.8 mile queue westbound.

The East Lothian Courier reports that a West Yorkshire Police Dog Support Unit was sent to the scene and the pig was eventually taken away in the van at around 8.32pm.

Thankfully, the piglet was eventually reunited with its owner.

The WY Police Dogs also tweeted a picture of the piglet back in a field, writing: "It is now back with its owner safe and sound tired but safe. Hogs all round team effort."
