Craig Revel Horwood sells up: see inside his Camden home

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood is selling his pretty pink Camden cottage after 20 years.

Craig, 52, bought the end-of-terrace property in Kelly Street in 1997 with the help of a loan from theatre producer Cameron Mackintosh, paying just £149,000. He paid back the loan by letting out his spare room.

Now, though, the intimidating Australian is selling up as he wants to spend more time at his Hampshire mansion, with an asking price of £1.2 million.

The charming Grade II listed house, which was built in the 1850s, forms part of a multicoloured terrace of stuccoed properties with elaborate ironwork railings. It has two bedrooms, a bathroom and en-suite shower room, along with a good-sized reception/dining room and a large kitchen.

However, the main bathroom is currently downstairs, and leads directly off the kitchen.

At the back, there's a small landscaped garden with spot lighting and water features, and there's also a roof terrace above the kitchen and bathroom that's big enough for a spot of entertaining.

There's planning permission for alterations to the property, the agents say, which would extend the ground floor and add another storey - allowing for a new bathroom upstairs.

Inside, the decor is pretty extravagant in places, with dramatic wallpaper, red carpets and chandeliers. The original windows are still in place, although other original features, such as fireplaces, have been removed.

According to the Ham and High, Craig calls the house Kelly Castle - and named the fountain in the garden Kelly Brook, after his former Strictly co-star.

The house has hosted numerous parties, where, says Craig, people would gather around the piano and sing. Thanks to the thick walls, he says, he's only ever had one complaint.

Craig is finally ready to move back into his Hampshire mansion, which he had to leave last spring after a burst pipe caused massive flood damage.

"Everything had to be gutted," he said. "I had just put in a new kitchen and all of that had to go."
