First of all, be wary when you're reheating chicken. You need to heat it up to a piping hot temperature to avoid problems when digesting it.

And did you know you can really only eat mushrooms for 24 hours after they've been cooked? The proteins in the shrooms start breaking down almost instantly after they've been prepped, so you should be sure to eat them ASAP.

Those leftover roasted potatoes may look good - but they could actually be a bacteria-breeding ground. To avoid botulism, throw those taters into the fridge as soon as they're cooked.

And while we're at it, let's talk about rice. It's such a pain to cook, so you probably make it in big batches and eat it throughout the week, right?

Well, if you do, it's time to stop. Because it turns out dry rice is extremely porous, which makes it hold on to bacteria that could make you sick.

When you reheat the cooked rice, that bacteria will only multiply.
