Vienna has the world's highest quality of living

Vienna has been named as the city with the world's highest quality of life for the eighth year in a row.

Every year, the global consulting firm Mercer investigates, assesses and ranks the world's cities according to their overall quality of living.

This year, European cities dominate the top ten with Zurich in second place, Munich fourth and Dusseldorf in sixth.

Frankfurt, Geneva, Copenhagen and Basel take slots seven to 10.

The only two cities outside of Europe to be included in the top ten are Auckland in New Zealand and Vancouver in Canada.
