Skier spots stranded friend on GoPro footage

This GoPro footage taken in France helped a skier find his friend, who had become stranded in the snow.

The video, shot in Chamonix with a GoPro camera, captures the moment Richard Westenra skis close to his friend who is lying on the ground to the left in precarious circumstances.

''I lost my buddy while skiing in Chamonix and found him when I checked the GoPro footage,'' the filmer later wrote online.

''He's fine! He banged his knee a little, but was otherwise okay: He landed in a snowy patch between the rocks,'' he added.
