It's hard out there when you add a new member to the family, whether it's a baby or even a puppy.

But a Scottish based craft beer company is doing new dog owners a favor: BrewDog has announced plans to offer employees with new pups seven extra days of 'Puppy Parental Leave'.

Dogs have been known to roam the offices of startups and tech companies like Google and BrewDog to further enhance the laid back vibe.

But it's one thing to bring a trained dog into the office - you're the cool guy with a cool dog.

But what about a new puppy? You might end up as the person with the dog who won't stop whining.

Founded in 2007, BrewDog brews their own label beer and also has bar operations around the world.

BrewDog is offering enhanced paternity leave in addition to the new 'paw-ternal leave'.

The company said in a statement, Puppy Parental Leave will support nervy canines and their owners alike in those all-important first few days of the greatest relationship a person can have.

They said: "We are becoming the first in our industry to give our staff a working week's leave on us to help settle a new furry family member into their home."
