The Celebrity Big Brother final is fast-approaching, and 3 February looms large for the housemates. It has been a pretty explosive series so far, with plenty of surprises. And one of the biggest surprises is the odds now being offered on each of the housemates.

Kim Woodburn, the 74-year-old presenter and celebrity cleaner, was a late addition to the show. She immediately launched into her housemates with abandon. Her outbursts have made her incredibly unpopular in the house, and former glamour model Nicola McLean even asked to leave the show, claiming her feud with Woodburn was too upsetting.

Outside the house, meanwhile, Woodburn appears to be the star of the show. She almost doubled the ratings after calling the rest of the housemates "chicken-livered s***s", and is now favourite to win.

The odds

Some betting sites, like Ladbrokes, have her joint favourite at 3/1 alongside James Cosmo, while others - including Paddy Power and William Hill have her as the outright favourite at 9/4 and 5/2 respectively.

Whatever happens, there's a reasonable chance that her performance on the show will have the same kind of rejuvenating effect on her career as her stint in the jungle. For those who have seen her in the house, there can be no doubt that she will be in big demand as a pantomime villain for years to come.

Things aren't looking great for Bianca Gascoigne, meanwhile, as Paddy Power is offering odds of 100/1 for a win - despite her surviving the double eviction at the weekend. When she goes, this could mean an end to the endless speculation about the 'relationship' between Gascoigne and Jamie O'Hara, which has been on and off more times than a disco light.

The interest sparked Paddy Power to offer a number of special odds on the couple. They are apparently 5/1 to get engaged this year, 8/1 to announce a pregnancy this year, 10/1 to get married in 2017, and 500/1 to have a child that plays international football... none of these options can make particularly pleasant reading for her 'secret boyfriend'.

Of course, the only way to guarantee that a bet won't leave you worse off is not to bet at all. It's only ever sensible to bet with money you really can afford to lose. Whatever happens, it's not a great idea to bet your shirt on Kim Woodburn's continuing popularity.
