Injured victim draws lifelike portraits for police after 'traumatic' attack

An artistic victim of a "traumatic" assault turned the tables on his attackers when he handed police two incredibly lifelike drawings of the men he believes were responsible.

The 52-year-old was walking along Richmond Road in Waltham Forest, east London, when he was dragged to the ground by two men who squirted an unknown substance in his face.

As the man got back to his feet he was again knocked to the ground before being repeatedly kicked. The suspects then ran off after stealing his headphones.

The man suffered a dislocated shoulder and bruising in the attack, which took place at around 6.45pm on November 11.

Detectives were unable to identify the suspects from their investigation, but the victim was able to provide them with near-photographic quality pictures of those thought to be involved.

Scotland Yard said: "Despite the traumatic experience, the victim has been able to provide officers with hand-drawn images of the two men involved.

"They are both described as black, aged in their late teens to mid-20s. They were both wearing black puffa-style jackets with the hoods up."
